Abstract
The present paper is about to analyze the importance of the urban image while establishing settlements for tourism business. The survey shows out the close connection which exists between promoting a location, the urban image and the city development. The paper follows three themes:
To what measure the Western European industrial cities (and I have chosen as examples six cities from the United Kingdom) succeeded in promoting or transforming their image perception felt abroad?
How these cities are actually perceived abroad?
Which is the role to be played by the urban aspect while establishing the settlements for potential investors within the business tourism sector?
