http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/659

The impacts of climate change on nature-based tourism in the Indian Himalayan region can be significant and multifaceted, such as changes in weather patterns, biodiversity, water bodies or water availability, infrastructure, or services, and even changes in cultural and social patterns. Eventually, the impacts of climate change on nature-based tourism in the western Indian Himalayan terrain are projected to be substantial and complex. Hence, in this research work, we explored the consequences of climate change on nature-based tourism in the Western Indian Himalayan Region (W-IHR). This research study adopts a quantitative approach, using the survey technique, to assess the impacts of climate change on nature-based tourism. We used simple random sampling and selected 264 respondents as our study sample. The statistical analysis, i.e., multiple linear regression, was employed to test the study hypothesis to reach a conclusion. According to the findings, climate change has had a negative impact on nature-based tourism. Finally, this research stated that climate change impacts nature-based tourism by degrading the nature-based tourism resource base in the Western Indian Himalayan Region (W-IHR). Due to this alteration and degradation, tourism businesses such as tour operation agencies, hotels, restaurants, etc. would also be affected by increased risks.
Murshad AliMohd ArmanMohd AbadAbdul Qadir2023-12-262023-12-260An insightful study on Homestay tourist satisfaction based on destination attribute’s performance with reference to Darjeeling hills (India)
http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/628

Blessed with a plethora of scenic bountiful natural attractions with the grandeur of mighty Himalayan peaks, waterfalls, flora and faunas, the ‘Queen of Hills’-Darjeeling being one of highly googled hill-destinations has been witnessing a burgeoning growth of homestay based tourism in offbeat rural parts in and around Darjeeling-hills resulting equitable & inclusive socio-economic growth, prosperity and a holistic development in remote hilly locations. The present study attempts to ventilate an insightful understanding of homestay tourist satisfaction & dissatisfaction with a three-phased analysis, initially with Kano’s-model to evaluate tourist-satisfaction based on identified destination parameters under 5 broad themes of attraction, accommodation, amenities, activities and accessibility. Penalty-Reward-Contrast-Analysis was applied to assess the texture of relationship between tourist-satisfaction and homestay-host’s service-quality and finally Asymmetric-Impact-Performance-Analysis was used to validate findings of Kano’s-model and also to identify homestay parameters' priority in generating homestay guest’s satisfaction considering nonlinearity and impact of attribute’s performance on tourist’s mindset.
Shomnath DuttaDebabrata MUKHOPADHYAY2023-12-232023-12-230NAVIGATING CHANGE IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE INDUSTRY: SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES, CUSTOMER PREFERENCES, AND EVOLVING TRENDS

A CASE STUDY IN PULISAN VILLAGE, LIKUPANG, NORTH MINAHASA REGENCY, INDONESIA
http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/641
Since 2019, Indonesian government has launched the development of a Special Economic Tourism Zone which consists of 8 areas with their own uniqueness and priority scale. One of them is Likupang, where this area is included in the super priority scale. The fundamental change is infrastructure assistance in the form of houses to be used as homestay. In addition, the government encourages educational institutions and the hospitality industry to provide homestay management training to local communities. However, with the assistance of homestay facilities and the training provided, have you guaranteed that the local community is ready to manage the homestay business? The purpose of this study was to examine the readiness of the community in managing homestays. The research method is descriptive with data collection techniques through surveys to the recipients of homestay facilities and training as many as 73 families. The results of the study that the community's readiness to manage can be seen from three indicators, namely knowledge, skills and attitudes, showing that the community is not fully confident in managing homestays, they still need to get assistance even though there are so many trainings and workshops provided by various tourism education institutions and the hospitality industry.Pearl Loesye WenasFonny SangariJemmy PangemananBenny Irwan TowoliuJufrina Mandulangi2023-12-262023-12-260IMPLICATIONS OF INDUSTRY 4.0 AND THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ECONOMIC ENTITY IN THE TOURISM SECTOR. http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/653

Wellness tourism, a burgeoning trend, entails travellers seeking destinations that offer services aimed at enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This study delved into the relationship between tourists' wellness experiences, their satisfaction levels, and their intentions to revisit such destinations. It also explored the mediating role of tourist satisfaction and the moderating influence of gender in this context. Data were collected from individuals who had experienced wellness tourism using a purposive sampling approach. Out of 500 questionnaires distributed to tourists visiting Uttarakhand for wellness services, 438 valid responses were gathered. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 23.0 and SmartPLS 4.0. The findings underscored the significant impact of educational, entertainment, and escapist experiences on tourists' revisit intentions, with the exception of the esthetic experience. Importantly, all four experiences positively and significantly affected tourist satisfaction. Furthermore, the study revealed that the favourable effects of wellness tourism on tourists' intentions to revisit could be reinforced through the mediating role of satisfaction. Additionally, gender emerged as a significant moderating factor. This research provides valuable insights for researchers and marketers interested in understanding visitor satisfaction and revisit intentions in the context of wellness tourism.
PARMINDER SINGH DHILLON2023-12-262023-12-260A GRAPHIC REVIEW OF STUDIES ON COASTAL TOURISM AND BATHING WATER QUALITY

Some of the common words in the selected scientific literature are: “economy”, “management”, “improvement”, “recreational activities”, “wastewater”, “sewage”, “contamination”, “pollution”, “Escherichia coli”, “enterococci”, “model”. Frequently mentioned places are Brazil and Adriatic Sea. An upgraded management of the coastal areas is needed for a sustainable tourism in the near future.
Andrei-Emil Briciu2023-12-262023-12-260RETROSPECTIVE ON MANAGING THE TOURISM CRISIS AND THE HOTEL INDUSTRY DURING THE PANDEMIC PERIOD
http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/662

Research on the crisis in tourism and the hotel industry has become a topic of particular importance in the context of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, as this crisis in the tourism sector, especially in the hotel industry, has affected a number of hotels and tourism businesses that have not recovered from the major impact of this uncertain situation. The pandemic period experienced by hoteliers provided a context for management to demonstrate their adaptability to new situations, but also the challenges associated with resilience, recovery and market value enhancement in such situations. In relation to the topic at hand, we considered it important to invoke the way governments have been able to intervene and support the hospitality industry and tourism activity when, in practice, they have been the areas most impacted in the context and scale with which the pandemic has evolved. Thus, the main objective of the paper is to review the literature on methodological approaches in determining the peculiarities of management specific to the hotel industry in times of crisis and to present the strategies to be followed by hotel managers during crises and disasters.
Camelia Cătălina Mihalciuc2023-12-262023-12-260IDENTIFYING IMPEDIMENTS TO PRESERVING OLD HOUSES AND CREATING SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES IN THE BUKOVINA REGION

Tourism is one of the most flourishing sectors in the world. Tourism related activities are affected by taxes and tributes. The importance of tourism taxation is well recognized. Tourism taxation is a tool that allows obtaining resources to finance the costs derived from tourism activity. In the tourism industry, there are specific taxes, such as hotel room tax or airport exit tax, and general taxes, such as value added tax. This article analyses the research published papers on tourism taxation, by using the bibliometric tool. The data were extracted from the Web of Science database and the analysis has been made by the biblioshiny for bibliometrix package from statistical R software. The results show that 120 researchers studied tourism taxation and published 55 papers in 35 journals. The present paper contributes to research on tourism taxation. http://revistadeturism.ro/rdt/article/view/657

Maramureș, due to its rich cultural and natural heritage, is a well-known region in Romania for thriving rural tourism. The connection between humans and nature has always been exceptional in Maramureș, which is reflected in the existing crafts and traditions. This connection has materialized in the villages of Maramureș through the presence of traditional elements such as wooden gates, wooden churches, and wooden houses. The opinion regarding the importance of these elements varies among the local population, and significant changes in Romanian society in terms of politics, social issues, and economics in recent years pose a threat to traditional Maramureș architecture in all its aspects.

The objective of this study is to identify ways in which rural tourism can contribute to the preservation and awareness of the value of traditional architecture in Maramureș.
